The U-City Art Walk is a creative platform event initiative, created during the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, to help small businesses, creatives, and Artists make an honest living from unfortunate means of scarcity and no work. Artists and Small Businesses involved with our platform, have been known in the area of Powelton Village, where the consumers and buyers come and patronage creativity and one of kind pieces monthly on the corners of 37th and Lancaster & Powelton Aves.
The U-City Art Walks main mission is to uplift and help Artists, creatives and small businesses thrive and shine a spotlight on up and coming raw talent in the Philadelphia and tri-state area.
“The U-City Art Walk” captures walkers and consumers of many kind—ranging from other neighboring creatives, students (Drexel, UPENN) as well as day to day city professionals and front line health care workers. Set in the heart of University City on the corner of 37th & Lancaster Avenue, our home location “The U-City Art Walk” is also sponsored by a neighboring ice creamery “Cocos Cookies and Creamery”.
The location spans from the corner of Lancaster to Powelton and 37th in a square like island-inlet. The area is filled with a mixture of students, workers, creatives and other artists all blended together in an awesome and cool gentrified circle of living

In May 2024, the U-City Art Walks reached a significant milestone with the installation of a two-case art display in City Hall, the epicenter of our city's business and community life. This prestigious opportunity, orchestrated by the Creative Philadelphia team and the Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, underscores our commitment to enriching the community through the arts. The installation at City Hall is more than just a showcase; it is a powerful testament to years of dedicated programming, support for creatives, small businesses, and the tireless efforts of freelance and full-time artists. This exhibition symbolizes the collective spirit and collaboration that defines our artistic community. As an artist deeply involved in this journey, my experiences have been instrumental in forging this partnership. The platform we’ve created is not just for personal recognition but is built on the principles of unity and mutual support. This installation has opened doors, connecting us to a distinguished network of colleagues and supporters, including Council members Jamie Gauthier and Rue Landau. The recognition from Mayor Cherelle Parker, who personally visited the installation and praised our creative endeavors, further cements our standing in the community. The U-City Art Walks' presence in City Hall signifies how far we have come as an art platform. It highlights the importance of our work and the impact we have made on the community. This achievement is a reflection of our collective passion and dedication to the arts, and it propels us toward even greater accomplishments in the future.
